Run by Abu Dhabi Mobility. Cameras read the plate, which has to be registered against a funded wallet. The four original gates charge 07:00 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday; Sundays and public holidays are free. No VAT announcement has been published for Darb.
What Darb chargesGhantoot and Al Qurm opened on 4 May 2026 and charge AED 4 around the clock, seven days a week. A car coming back from Abu Dhabi at night crosses one of them, which is why Darb needs checking and not only Salik.
Check these three thingsThe AED 16 daily cap and the monthly caps for private vehicles were removed on 1 September 2025, and the evening window now starts at 15:00. One car can accumulate whatever it crosses in a month.
What Darb chargesA vehicle registered outside Abu Dhabi that crosses without enough balance and does not top up within five days is fined AED 50. Unregistered plates get the AED 100, AED 200 and AED 400 ladder after ten days.
The toll lands on youAbu Dhabi's early payment scheme: 35 per cent off a fine paid in full within 60 days of the violation, 25 per cent within a year, severe violations excluded. An AED 600 fine is AED 390 on day five and AED 600 after a year.
Discount windowsLook fines up through Abu Dhabi Police e-services, TAMM or Emirates Vehicle Gate. TAMM flags a non-payable fine and moves it, with its black points, to the driver's licence, confirmed by OTP. The point transfer service has no fee.
